Dive the World
To join in the fun, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental permission is required. The Adventure Scuba program covers the basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and having fun diving around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Once you have the basic skills down you can jump into adventure. We do wreck diving and find pirates treasure, learn search and recovery patterns and finding lost objects, ultimate Frisbee, rescue, fish ID and partake in Project AWARE fish counts. We simulate Navy seal exercises, do under water mazes, and scavenger hunts. These dives are geared toward increasing the child’s awareness of what the world under the water is all about and what careers may be open to them in the diving industry. We practice responsibility and learn to respect the aquatic realm while having a blast doing it! Each session is an hour and a half.
This is a winter program offered at several locations. It is also offered to local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who have taken the Discover Scuba class. Susan can arrange classes around your schedule for your group whether it is for scouts, family reunions, summer camps for the neighborhood or a birthday party.
